Home » Refinishing » Refinishing Duraflex Diving Boards

Replace the slip-resistant surface on your diving board BEFORE a slipping accident occurs.

The length of time before refinishing becomes necessary depends on the amount and kind of traffic, care in handling and storage, and environmental conditions.

If the diving board is slippery take it out of service and contact us for refinishing.

Factory Refinishing involves removing the topcoat with a mechanical stripper, sending the board through our paint line for a new finish, and installing new rubber channels.

Warning: If the board has a non-factory coating on it, we may be unable to remove that coating. We refuse to remove coatings that are thick or of material that is unlike our coating. If there are adhesive strips applied to the board, other than the strips and method suggested by our factory, we will not refinish. You must remove any rubber-based adhesive or non-factory applied paint that may be on the board.

Examine your board carefully for gouges and cracks; look closely at the underside ribs in the fulcrum area. If any cracks or gouges are found call and tell us the approximate location and measurement.

Charges for Refinishing and attaching new Rubber Channels (includes (2) 5/8" x 3 1/2" Stainless Steel Board Bolts with Nuts):

Board model:                                                 2010 Price:    Weight: (in cardboard)

14' Duraflex                                                    $825.00       140 lbs.

16' Duraflex, Maxiflex, Maxi-B                       $825.00       145 lbs.

There will be an extra charge ($90) to replace the anchor angle if the factory determines the anchor-bolt holes are enlarged, corroded, or if the bolts are stuck in the anchor angle. Please have your purchase order provide for this charge.

Shipping charges to get the board to the factory are paid by you directly to the trucking company. Do not ship to us collect.  We will ship it back to you prepaid by YRC and add charges to your invoice.

Prepare the Board(s) for shipment:

  1. Diving boards can be seriously damaged during shipment.  To help prevent damage:
  2. Wrap it in thick corrugated cardboard, using duct tape;
  3. Do not wrap 2 or more boards together.  A single board can be lifted by two men.  Forklifts should not be needed to go into truck trailers to unload diving board
  4. Call YRC (formerly Yellow Freight**) to arrange pick-up.  On the Bill of Lading write in the weight and “Freight Class 70”. We suggest you add Excess Liability coverage.

    The “ship-to” address is:

Duraflex International
160 Wunotoo Road
Sparks  NV  89434

**Every damage claim with carriers other than Yellow Freight has been a nightmare to file and to pursue collection.  Therefore, if a customer chooses another carrier, we will refuse to participate in a damage claim regarding that shipment, except to provide copies of our invoice and bill of lading to the customer who must file the claim.

DO NOT USE USF BESTWAY OR AC FREIGHT! (In a claim you could receive as little as $14.50 if your board is destroyed.)

Transit time is about 5 business days each way, from and to the East Coast. We require the board in our factory for approximately 8 weeks.

  • If you do not have enough time for a factory refinish before your facility season begins, look at our suggested alternative for temporary restoration of slip-resistant surface
