Noises can come from several possible sources. It is difficult to identify the exact source of a noise because of the way the board conducts sound along its' entire length. What may sound like a noise coming from in front of the fulcrum can actually originate from the rear.
One common source of noise is hinges that do not have adequate lubrication. This is often the source of noise for a diving board that has been diagnosed as a "squeaky board." A few drops of light oil, like sewing machine oil or 3-in-1 oil, should be applied into the lubrication holes of the hinges. Bounce the board a few times to help the oil work its' way into the nyliners and hinge pins and see if the noise persists.
An inspection should be conducted of the entire stand. Carefully inspect the board for cracks. Check that the board is centered on the fulcrum. Check all bolts for tightness. Inspect the fulcrum assembly; broken or missing roller bearings or slide bearings will create a very loud noise. Loose rail clamp bolts will allow the handrails to vibrate excessively.
