Load testing of our diving board was done by both static and dynamic methods.
A 235 lb diver, by repeated bouncing of the board to gain maximum height ("trampolining the board") depressed the board 1.09 meters. By static loading the same board, we arrived at 1500 lbs to depress the board the same distance.
The board effects leverage of approximately 2:1, so the upload on the anchor end would be approximately 3,000 lbs. This force is a "jerk lift" load on the rear assembly of the stand. An equivalent compression (with some of the force: rearward shear) is estimated for the front assembly ("main support") of the stand.
