There are several steps, requiring specific tooling, that are necessary to make a solid, dependable handrail system for your Durafirm stand. It is not easy to achieve a good result in the field.
A Durafirm stand built without handrails has a short roller on the fulcrum. A stand built with handrails has a long roller on the fulcrum.
A long roller on a stand where the rail supports have been removed by the customer will be inappropriate (and dangerous), because the diver will have to reach out farther with his/her foot to the footwheel, and will no longer have the handrails to support him/her while he/she is standing on one foot.
We do offer "rail packages" to help you make your stand safer, or to restore its safety rails. In this kind of undertaking, where the customer and Duraflex personnel try to work together over the phone to build something in the field, we need as much direct contact with the person doing the work as possible. You may purchase through our dealer, but call us directly with all the specifics so that we can send you the right pieces to restore your stand. There are many different possible combinations of stand models, rail lengths and rail curvatures. We must determine exactly what it is that you have, and what it is that you want.
